It is with great excitement that we announce our involvement in the launch of a new series, to be published by Springer, called Understanding Teaching-Learning Practice. The series will foreground research exploring the relations between current practice and research, with a specific emphasis on translational research that draws on diverse methodologies in real-world settings.
The first book in this series is called Spaces of teaching and learning: Integrating perspectives on research and practice. We have chosen to launch the series in this manner for two important reasons. First, the materiality of spaces for learning has only recently been acknowledged as a gap in the literature; and second, environments for learning are not only where teaching-learning practice is performed, but powerfully participate in shaping the practice they accommodate. Therefore, it is appropriate that we launch this new series, dedicated to understanding teaching-learning practice, with an exploration of the spaces in which we teach and learn.
